happy independence day

We celebrated the holiday with Miles' first trip to the beach and a picnic with Aunt Heather and Aunt Wendy. It's no "downy ocean, hon" but I think he had fun.

jumping bean

Miles' latest toy (aka, Mommy's containment device so she can take a shower).

minty fresh

With all of this eating, we figure we should start teaching Miles good oral hygiene, too.

soup du jour

On the menu this afternoon, we have a fresh Cream of Egg Yolk soup. Bon Appetit!

the end of an era

Seems like it's time to retire the 3-6 month baby toys (sniff, sniff).

gestation buddies

Another playdate with Eve and Taggert - fun times!

summertime!

Miles has been enjoying the first week of summer. He had his first ride on a swing, and got a library card.

more yums

Miles devoured his first bowl of rice cereal.

bedroom update

Just a little redecorating - new bedspread and bedside lights:

big turkey

Miles enjoyed his 6-month check up - we really need to get a roll of that paper they use to cover the examining tables! He now weighs in at 20 pounds and 1 ounce, and measures 28 inches long.

chez lindenstruth

Just a little plug for this fabulous bed-and-breakfast I know in Towson. Check out the breakfast we enjoyed al fresco one morning:

Yum! Thanks Mom and Dad!!

another new friend!

My bestest friend from high school came over with her "baby" for a visit. Miles was a little shy at first, but then really warmed up.

who you callin' crabby?

Miles was more interested in his command center (thanks Jimmy!) than the crabs...

But Papa really got into them!

Big day! Miles hung out with Jimmy for a while:

And then went to meet Great Grandma!

happy father's day

charm city

Mom shooed us out of the house for a few hours (for some private Miles-time), so Chachi and I played tourist at Lexington Market. Yum.

dad, what's this green stuff?

In Baltimore, Miles learned what it's like to play in the grass.

And that it's possible to hang out outside without a coat on in June.

dinner in the village

On Sunday, after the rest of the fam had returned home, we walked up to Greenwich Village and found a cozy Italian restaurant for dinner. We weren't sure Miles would behave so we split a quick salad and pizza. But he was fine, so we ordered a fruit plate and a meat plate. Miles enjoyed gumming a slice of pear, and we had another few minutes to relax, if you can call it relaxing to have a squirmy baby on your lap who likes to drop things on the floor.

nuptials!

My baby sister is now a married woman! Congrats Kate and Joey! We had such a good time at all of your festivities!
